CAPTIOQ
Terms of Service
Effective date: September 13, 2026
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using Captioq, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Service description
Captioq provides browser-based tools for recording a screen, camera, microphone, and available system audio, together with local preview, editing, and download features. Feature availability depends on your browser, device, operating system, permissions, and network environment.
3. Local processing and your responsibility
Recordings are generally created and processed locally in your browser. You are responsible for saving backups and confirming that the final file is complete before closing the page, clearing browser data, or deleting a recording.
4. Lawful use and consent
You may use Captioq only for lawful purposes. You must obtain all permissions and consents required before recording people, conversations, meetings, copyrighted material, confidential information, or third-party systems. You must not use the service to violate privacy, intellectual-property, security, employment, or other applicable laws or agreements.
5. Prohibited use
You must not attempt to disrupt the service, bypass security controls, introduce malicious code, gain unauthorized access, misuse third-party content, or use Captioq for fraud, harassment, unlawful surveillance, or other harmful activity.
6. Ownership
You retain ownership of the recordings and content you create. You are responsible for that content and for having the rights necessary to record, edit, download, publish, or share it. Captioq and its website software, branding, and documentation remain protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
7. Third-party services
The website may contain links, advertisements, analytics, codecs, browser capabilities, or integrations provided by third parties. Their availability and terms are outside Captioq's control, and your use of them may be governed by separate policies.
8. Availability and changes
The service is provided on an “as available” basis. Features may be modified, suspended, or discontinued, and compatibility may change as browsers and operating systems evolve.
9. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Captioq is provided without warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free output, fitness for a particular purpose, or permanent compatibility. Always review important recordings before relying on them.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Captioq and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, including lost recordings, data, revenue, or business opportunities resulting from use of or inability to use the service.
11. Termination
Access may be limited or terminated when these terms are violated, when necessary to protect users or the service, or when required by law.
12. Changes and contact
These terms may be updated periodically. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms where permitted by law. For questions, use the Contact Us page.
